Are you building a new home? Then you know how tough it can be to find reliable contractors.
Service Central was created for just that reason - to make it easier to find the right tradies for your job, such as finding certified electricians for a new home.
When you're building a new home, renovating or constructing a set of units you know you need an electrician you can trust. They must have public liability insurance, they must be safe and they have to know what they're doing. That's where Service Central comes in - with our strict quality control we ensure that when you post an electrical job on Service Central, only certified electricians will call you back. We take the hassle out of hiring by checking their qualifications, licenses and insurance certificate for you. And if the business doesn't meet our strict certification standards, then they're stamped with 'not certified' until they do. Post your electrical job with Service Central today and benefit from our free quality checking service!
Planning. Hire a certified electrician to help you in the planning stages and the rest of your building project will flow a lot easier. They'll be able to help you identify where you'll need data and power points, exactly where and what sort of cabling and wires should be installed and they'll even be able to give you tips on saving electricity and reducing your electricity bill.
Implementation. Using a certified electrician who has helped you with the planning stages will ensure that all your electrical elements and outlets are done to the satisfaction of you, the building code and the building inspector who will perform an electrical inspection when the building's completed.
A home generally accesses its power from the mains, which is connected to the house via a cable from the street by way of the meter. From there it goes to your home's switchboard which contains fuses, contact breakers and a safety switch to ensure you're protected from surges, leakages and electrocution. From there the power is then distributed throughout the house through internal wires. If you're planning on installing solar panels for an alternative power supply, or require a backup generator to be installed as well, then I'm sure you can imagine how the electrical system in your home can rapidly become very complicated.
Electrical work must be performed only by a certified electrician with the appropriate electrical license for your state as well as public liability insurance. If you don't have these things then don't do electrical work! This is both commonsense and the law. The electrical work must also be up to standard and comply with the Building Code of Australia.
Here! Post your electrical job with Service Central and we'll ensure that only certified electricians get in touch about your job. Alternatively you can find an electrician through the Service Central electrical contractor's directory, however remember - if they've been stamped with the 'not certified' badge then you must ask them about their licenses and insurance.
All Service Central electricians are licenced, insured and certified.

by Service Central · 11 CommentsDid you know that malfunctioning ovens and stoves are a leading cause of electrician call-outs? Electric ovens may have become the norm but many homeowners are remarkably poorly-versed when it comes to solving basic errors in functioning. Ovens which are consistently overheating, ovens which don’t appear to turn on at all, ovens with bust lights or wonky doors and ovens which spread heat to neighbouring kitchen units are all common complaints. Here are three key steps for dealing with your issue.

by Service Central · 2 CommentsHis forearms glistened with sweat as his fingers inched closer to their destination. Moving swiftly, forcefully and with precision, he twisted and turned, grunting in concentration. His breath quickened as he thrust his tool further and further into the opening until, with one final push, he emerged drenched in sweat and with a grin. “Looks like that leak’s all fixed up now then, Ms Mitchell.” Does this sound familiar? Never fear – with these handy pick-up lines, you’ll be rustling up a bit of tradie-love in no time at all.
