This year's winner of the Brightgreen 'Switched On' competition is a sweet little portable light designed to clip onto your laptop, created by Joseph Louis Tan from UNSW.
Connecting via USB, the light is designed to sit around the camera on your laptop and cast a far more flattering light for video chat and blogging. Inspired by ring lights used by photographers, the more direct light helps to soften the features and prevent harsh shadows from forming under the facial features.
The light comes in a variety of colours, with a handy cord storage spot at the back so that the USB cord never gets in your way.
Switched On is a competition run by Australian LED designers Brightgreen. Competition design entrants must be of fixed or free standing downlights, bulbs, lamps, task lights or any new lighting solutions that harness LED technology.

3rd Place – Michael Oechsle (Monash)
