Tech Tip: Scanner Pro
Scanner Pro is a nifty app for the iPhone that turns your phone camera into a document scanner. You can then upload the scanned documents direct to Google Docs, Drop Box or a variety of other online storage sites.
We've reached the end of the financial year and I don't know about you, but I'm really struggling to find all my receipts! How I wish I'd had an iPhone and Scanner Pro last year!
With Scanner Pro you can take a photo of a document using your iPhone and then save it as a PDF to a variety of different online storage sites. You can even save multi-page PDFs!
How Scanner Pro works is:
- You set up the document in a well lit, flat area.
- Take the photo in Scanner Pro
- Identify the corners of the document so Scanner Pro can tweak it to flatten the perspective and straighten
- Fix and too-light/too-dark areas with Scanner Pro's built in image-editing tools
- Save as a PDF and send the document to your folder on sites such as Google Docs, Drop Box, Evernote and more.
It really is that simple! You can even upload your scanned documents to Service Central as part of a job attachment.
