We are interested in replacing all single glazed, double hung windows on our property with new, double glazed windows (ideally with around 16mm air gap) - our intention is to reduce noise and to keep the heat in during winter (and out during summer!) rough measurements of our windows (including frames) would be as follows: kitchen window: 100cm high x 125cm wide master bedroom window: 123cm high x 230cm wide second bedroom window: 123cm high x 128cm wide lounge window: 125cm high x 173cm wide lounge patio door (with adjoining windows left and right): total 207cm high x 258cm wide all of the above windows currently have removable 'glazing bars' attached, giving the panes of glass the appearance of being divided into smaller rectangles...if possible, we would like to know what our options are should we wish to retain the look of the property in this manner. so far we have had quotes at around the $8k mark, and we would be interested in knowing whether we could in fact improve upon this figure without sacrificing quality. we can be reached by e-mail at any time, and would welcome your quotations based on the above!
