We are renovating our kitchen at the moment. the floor has been removed and the gound underneath is slightly damp. before we lay new floor boards, we want to find the source of dampness and prevent. it may be seeping though grouting in paving immediately outside back doors, in which case it may need some kind silicone treatment where the paving meets the door frame. it's also possible that the water table is high in our area, in which case we may need extra ventilation to the subfloor.
