Poison existing weeds with Glyphosate/round up, remove surface rubbish (some woodchips and weed mat cover), condition soil (loosen soil with rotary hoe or equiv and level surface so that installed turf is level with the path edges, add gypsum if required) and install buffalo lawn (preferred sir walter but open to suggestions).
