For some time our upstairs concrete balcony has been occasionally leaking into the bedroom underneath through ceiling downlights. A tradesman who assured us he was a 'leak expert' came & lifted the tiles & concrete, painted on a membrane & left for the day without securing the area with any tarps. 2 hours later it rained & we had much bigger leaks & and exposed balcony! They tarped up of the area over the past 5 days and finally he returned today 5 hours later than originally planned, with his subcontractor screed tiler to lay concrete. However he did an amateur half-finished job of laying concrete mix down in a lumpy uneven layer & then left it unfinished with a section missed staying he was 'done for the day'.
We have little confidence in their ability to do a proper job with care.
We are seeking an honest professional tradesperson who know what they are doing to complete the job properly for long-lasting durable results, and no more leaks! Essentially this would be to lay a waterproof membrane, then concrete screen, then tiling.
