I want a total quote for the job, not just hourly rate. The section of the apartment that needs to be done is 60sqm. It's very hard to measure as there are no rooms with straight walls. The areas that are already tiled (2 bathrooms, foyer, laundry and kitchen will stay as they are)
I am looking for the quote to cover the removal of the carpet, laying of acoustic underlay, the cementing or screeding (due to tiles being rectified?), and the tiling of my apartment. I need you to quote for all materials and labour except the actual tiles. As the tiles are rectified and therefore more difficult to lay correctly I would love some proof of your experience in this. The tiles are rectified 900x150 and cost $35 sqm. If you could find the same quality cheaper I would be happy to do that, but their prices are very good for the high quality of these tiles. The instillation will be made easier by the fact you can park right outside the lift and the lift opens to my apartment door.
I would also like the certificate information for the underlay you plan to use so I can pass onto the strata for approval if I decide I am going to use your services. And a rough idea of how many days the apartment would need to be free of furniture etc as this is going to be a logistical nightmare.
