Balcony waterproof and re-tile required. located in moonee ponds (parking on site). three balconies - one is 54 square metres; one is 9 square metres; and the other is 6 square metres (approx.). supply and lay tiles to each balcony including a border tile (150 mm high). three units: one is on the 4th storey; one is on the 3rd storey; and the other is on the 2nd storey. access to storeys 2 and 3 is via lift; 4th storey internal stair access.
requirements:
- remove old tiles
- clean and prepare surface for waterproofing
- caulk all junctions and construction joins with low modulus polyurethane sealant (sikaflex pro) and allow to cure over-night
- waterproof all balcony areas using reinforcing cloth over the entire area, at junctions and penetrations
- create tile screed base to regulation fall
- water proof screed base
- supply and lay 300 x 300 glazed tiles (dark colour - tba)
- grout entire surface except junctions and expansion joints
- caulk junctions and expansion joints and top of border tiles
- seal surface of tiles (2 coats)
- clean area and remove rubbish
- must be a registered builder (dbu) as the work will be completed under a domestic building contract
- must issue certificate of compliance for waterproofing
