I have a re-stumping/re-blocking job on a brick, double fronted terrace house in Brunswick East. The house is late Victorian era (1901 approx). Relevant job details are as follows:
- Front of the house is largely original (and suffers from the most movement) while the back of the house was a 1980's renovation and is on a slab. There is also a tiled front verandah.
- There is no apparent under-floor access
- I am unaware of what the current footings consist of (eg. bluestone, wood etc)
I am preferably looking for someone with experience in dealing with heritage or victorian-era homes who has reblocked similar homes in the past. I am looking for a professional opinion/assessment of what work needs to be carried out, the nature, scope and costs of that work. I am also interested in discussing potential flooring options post-reblocking.
