Westinghouse Fridge/freezing no longer cooling

Last week, while it was hot in melbourne, my fridge/freezer stopped cooling and freezing as well. It used to be I needed to keep the fridge turned down as low as possible or the stuff in the fridge froze, now I have to turn the fridge right to the top for it to only stay slightly cool. The Fridge is a top/bottom (with the freezer on top) it is about 8-9 years old. We are hoping it just needs regassing. please help!
