Heating element to fridge/freezer
JOAN requested 2 quotes from Refrigeration Professionals in Chapel Hill
Fisher and Paykel fridge freezer, (freezer on bottom).
The back of the freezer compartment is pushing into the freezer to the extent that the basket no longer fits into the freezer. Fridge and freezer both work fine.
I have been told that the heating element has burnt out so that ice behind the rear wall of the freezer compartment isn't melting and the resultant "iceball" is forcing the interior wall inwards. I can't actually see any ice.
Fisher and Paykel have made the diagnosis by phone but won't give me a ball part figure so I don't know if it's worth having it fixed.
I am still using the freezer but without the basket.
