Turn off the main water supply to the house. Remove everything from under the sink for easy access. Place a bucket underneath the existing shut-off valve to catch any drips. Use an adjustable wrench to loosen and remove the old valve. Clean the pipe threads and apply Teflon tape or joint compound. Install the new shut-off valve by tightening it onto the pipe, ensuring a snug fit. Slowly turn the main water supply back on and check for leaks. Test the new valve by turning it to the off position and turning on the sink faucet to ensure no water comes through.
