The gas connection from our meter to our hot water is leaking so needs to be replaced. But I think this is an opportunity to replace the existing gas hot water with electric off peak hot water so that we can get rid of the gas connection altogether (as we only use gas for the hot water). The alternative is to correct the gas connection but the meter is about 15 metres from the hot water so would be costly to replace the whole length, probably easier to just get a new electric hot water.
