I recently replaced my outdated top loaded washing machine with a front loader washer dryer combo. This new washing machine only requires connection to cold water and since it was installed, the hot water tap in my laundry sink has been disabled. When I phoned the appliance company, it was explained that it was likely connected oddly when renovations were done a few years back and wasn't their responsibility.
