We have a separate toilet room upstairs located next to the main bathroom. The drains for these get quite smelly, in particular in the toilet room. This has been an ongoing problem for a number of years (the house is 12 years old) and is eased by using Draino and the like, but I suspect they need a thorough professional clearing.
