Remove built in wardrobe, replace missing cornice

There are built ins in a property that have been put installed in quite an amateur way (e.g. cornice just been cut into to fit them and not plastered over with the cupboards). I want the cupboards removed and the cornice made good again. The back wall is painted brick (doesn't appear to have anything attached). The side walls are normal house walls and potentially some things have been attached.
