HIM Module - Drivers side noise (Dual System)

2008 BF Fairmont Sedan.
There is a ticking noise coming from the drivers side HIM module. If I unplug it, the noise stops. It is possibly just the mixer shaft on the driers side module or possibly both the module & the shaft. I believe that this is a common fault and I know that this requires removing most of the dash board to get to the module.
Whether this can be done on site or might require more labour?
