Opening a safe in lockout mode

We have a LORD safe probably 12 years old(only keypad, 4battery-case, and round knob on the front rectangular panel). last week, we suddenly just can't open it, after we replace the battery. We tried some combinations suggested by couple lock companies, but no luck. They said it is in lockout mode. We don't want to break the safe, so we are looking for someone know this kind LORD safe better and could help us to open it up
