Nathan requested 2 quotes from Landscapers in Riverhills
We have a link-block retaining wall, approx. 13m long that was laid on a base of fine bedding sand only. Due to the torrential rain since October last year, a substantial amount of the base has washed away. A small section of the wall has completely fallen over and the remainder is starting to subside. We need someone to lay a concrete footing for the whole wall (or an alternative footing that will provide complete stability). The wall is 1.27m at its highest point and is filled with 10mm aggregate. Another wall, approx. 15m long, runs at a right-angle to the 13m wall. It too is laid on fine bedding sand only, but to this point has not started to lean. However we feel it would be wiser to have a concrete footing laid for this wall also, to avoid the same problem occurring. We would like a couple of contractors to come and assess both walls and quote us on laying the footings. We would like the quotes to include the cost of labour to dismantle and rebuild the walls as we may decide to do that ourselves. We also need advice on whether or not any council approval is required for these walls.
