Construct footings for timber deck

I have a timber deck, approx 8" x 8" , 9" high supported by four 4x4 timber posts. The posts are currently either resting directly on or cemented into the concrete courtyard underneath. I am in the process of removing the concrete courtyard and need appropriate footings constructed to support the deck. The timber stairs will also need appropriate footings constructed.
