  The ‘kitchen’ renovation will encompass the laundry, existing kitchen and the space next to the existing kitchen (affectionately known as the ‘butler’s pantry’).

The work will involve:

Laundry
- Removal and disposal of old laundry (including the removal of the storage cupboard and removal of existing laundry basin)
- Preparing area for installation of new items
- Tiling over existing floor tiles, tiling over walls left bare due to removal of items (some of this may be done after installation of new items)
- Installation of new items, including: IKEA components
- Potential extras: Minor plumbing work (floor drain change to include additional layer of tiles, connecting drainage for laundry basin and washer), minor electrical work (potential installation of second powerpoint and downlight installation), wall/window-mounted fan installation [noting plumbing and electrical work may need to be contracted out separately]

Kitchen
- Removal and disposal of old kitchen (stripping everything back to walls, although we are considering leaving some of the tiles in place...)
- Preparing area for installation of new items (may include some minor repairs)
- Re-tiling existing floor (? removing floor tiles in kitchen area, which are cracked, and replacing with new tiles of similar kind, as with the laundry - retiling may occur after kitchen installation / may retile over existing floor?)
- Installation of new external window (bi-fold, cafe-style, with associated external brickwork)
- Installation of new items, including: IKEA components, new upright stove, dishwasher, overhead range-hood
- Extras: minor plumbing work (tap removal / placement, drainage changes / connections), electrical work (running 15A power supply for new stove, powerpoint installation / moves, downlight installations) [noting plumbing and electrical work may need to be contracted out separately]

Pantry
- Installation of new items, including IKEA components
- Extras: electrical work (new powerpoint installation, downlight installations) [noting electrical work may need to be contracted out separately]

Additional elements:
- Installation of two double door sets for the Laundry-Kitchen entry and Lounge-Kitchen entry (potentially the purchase of the door sets as well, if you can source them at a cheeper rate)

We have a timeframe for when the job needs to be completed. Ideally, most of the work would be completed between Thursday 14 July and Wednesday 3 August. However, we can probably start a few days earlier, if need be, and extend the finish date through to 7 August…

Previous experience with IKEA kitchen assembly essential!
