I've had a plumber come take a look and he believes that the previous owners did not install the shower properly (it's a one piece shower) as it has cracks on the floor and it needs to be replaced. The thing is, they actually installed the shower in the corner of the bathroom whereas it was previously somewhere else in the bathroom. If I'm anyway looking at the expense of replacing the shower, I'd like to put the shower back where it was originally and do a modest bathroom renovation. This would involve installing a new shower, plumbing and electrical for a washing machine, moving a vanity, installing a bath and full tiling job. As it is still leaking, I need to get the ball rolling on this ASAP.
