They need to be thick enough to be structurally sound for that height (maybe that means 4.2m and 1.25 x 1.25 - contractor to advise what is needed to last). Once side of fence is free from any interference, and good access down a driveway. The new fence is replacing a brick garage wall (which is coming today 11/12/19, separately). The new fence line will be slightly differently placed from where brick wall was, so that requires cutting about 3 pieces of timber in neighbour's garden bed, and (maybe) cutting 2 quite small citrus trees to make room for the new position of the fence. To be comprehensive, also mention that on neighbour's side there's a low decorative brick fence perpendicular to the new fence to be built. Photos can be provided showing everything, and my hand drawn sketch (which is less of a Picasso drawing and more of a kindergarten level, and not to scale, but indicates what is required). Ultimately - it's only a small section of fence, around 5.2 lineal metres.
