I relaise it needs proper building plans and approvals, but even with that cost taken out of the equation- it is still very expensive considering we haven't chose a fancy custom made shape for the sails. We chose 5.5m2 size shade sails instead of custom made shapes so that when they need replacing in 5-10 years time, we can purchase new ones easily, rather than sending them away for costly repairs or to be custom re-made. I feel we have been over-quoted for this job just because we are a school. This is being paid for out of the not for profit P&C budget and by applying for grants. The fundraising and grant writing (which aren't guaranteed and do not cover entire cost) take a lot of time and effort from volunteer committee members, and money spent on an over quoted shade sail is less money we can be spending on other resources that would benefit the school. I would just like some other quotes to compare with how much we have been quoted.
