A few weeks later a second roofing company repaired the rusty spots on my roof. The above two solutions fixed the leak into my ceiling - but created a problem for my neighbours, as the water from my gutter - at the point of the cut-out - is flowing onto their house whenever it rains (we have adjoining terrace houses). They have demanded urgent repairs. Two things now need to be done. - First, we need to repair the cut-out, to stop the water flowing onto the neighbouring house when it rains. - Second, the box gutter on my house needs to be connected (or reconnected) to the gutter on the verandah, so it flows down the down-pipes instead of pooling up in the roof area.
