I am in the process of ordering a custom kit double steel garage (a pretty basic double steel garage with a large roller door, colourbond sides etc...) which has some custom cutouts in two of the... I am in the process of ordering a custom kit double steel garage (a pretty basic double steel garage with a large roller door, colourbond sides etc...) which has some custom cutouts in two of the sides to avoid a couple of large trees on our block. The garage is therefore not a simple or standard rectangle shape that most of the pre-fab companies supply. I am finalisng the design with a company that is preparing the custom garage and will supply the materials it in kit form. I am doing it as an owner builder but will need a contractor to install/erect the garage and roller doors etc... The slab is all done and two of the sides have some core filled besser block retaining walls already erected which the garage will be built inside of (as the garage is at the rear of a sloping block so the besser block walls retain earth). The job requires a person experienced in steel garage installations and customization. As I am doing it as an owner builder, I need to arrange the labour component as I don't have time to be installing it myself. There will be some customization to be done once the kit is delivered (eg flashing for where the sides meet the besser block retaining walls, half doors in one end to access storage space etc....). Therefore, as it is a custom job so I am after a contractor that is thorough, has the ability to customize aspects of the garage, is suitably qualified and prepared to give the job the attention it will need. This is a genuine job and the timing is the next few months so I am flexible in that regard.
