Hello. we are looking to purchase a block of land & are wanting some quotes on the expected costs associated with building. the block is 20 metres wide & requires a retaining wall along the back... Hello. we are looking to purchase a block of land & are wanting some quotes on the expected costs associated with building. the block is 20 metres wide & requires a retaining wall along the back boundry of approx 1400 - 1600 high. we are wanting a block / brick retaining wall. it will not be seen as it will be backfilled once complete so it needs only be functional. i am assuming we will require drainage to be placed beside the wall also (the standard gravel with ag pipe). also a fence is required along this back boundry as well. a timber fence 6 foot, with small gap between the palings. another fence is required for one side of the block which is 24m long. the same style as the back boundry fence. also required is, a driveway that will lead into a double garage. the house will sit approx 6 metres from the front boundry. a stamped concrete driveway. at this stage we are after quotes, then once we purchase the block, we would require the retaining & fence to be done straight away (after settlement). then the driveway after the house has been built. so, if you could provide a fairly accurate estimate of cost of retaining etc per metre for what we will require we can budget this in. additional items will need to be done like concrete/paving for an entertainment area, gardens etc however these are not neccessities so we don't require a quote for these as yet. however, if we find a good quality, reliable person we will use you for a considerable amount of work. the block goes to auction on 24/11/07 so we require quotes prior to this time so we can work out how much we can bid to on the block. thanks.
