I'm an artist looking for a bricklayer to help me install a site specific sculpture within an inner city art gallery. the structure is relatively simple, its a pillar/pier less than 3 metres high (probably the height of 31 bricks plus mortar) and as far as i know will require about 200bricks (which i already have). the pillar just requires a stretcher bond corner, and itself is only two bricks wide,so in effect i would like a pillar about two bricks square, and close to three metres high. also, within the gallery, the supporting surface is floorboards. i would like to know if this structure is in any way possible? and if so, whether there are any bricklayers available for the job, which would have to be done over two days - december 3rd and 4th 2007.
