This should be a very straightforward job able to be completed in a single day for which a fair days work will be paid on the agreed completion date provided the Users conditions are met. - - Both flooring and underlay have already been obtained, though matching edging strips and protective internal-doorway protective strips must be supplied by the contractor. Apx half of the floor to be covered consists of wooden floorboards nailed to timber joists while the remaining half consists of a concrete slab. The entire floor area is presently covered with linoleum which may need to be removed by the Providor in advance of installing the floating floor. If not removed then a small area of apx 1 sq metere of missing linoleum will need to be replaced by the Providor to match the height of the existing linoleum e.g. by cutting and laying therein apx 1 sq metre of linoleum of equivalent thickness. As mentioned, the work includes safely moving existing furniture in the area to other rooms within the house or outside as per the User's instructions, and moving it back into position following completion of installation of the floating floor and edging. The floating floor and edging must be laid to a high professional standard and upon completion the floating floor must not make any noise under use. - - The work must be completed within a single day on a pre-arranged date convenient to both User and Provider, and must be warranted in writing by the Provider for a minimum of 3 years. The Provider may at its own cost visit the site on one or more pre-agreed dates and times in order to determine a quote, to offer samples of suitable edging and protective strips, and to co-ordinate with the User to determine and agree on the best manner to undertake the work, including whether or not removal of the existing linoleum floor covering is necessary. Upon completion of all flooring work, the work area must be properly cleaned and all discard or waste material must be removed from the property. No callout fee or other fee other than a single fixed amount must be quoted for the work and no other amount will be payable by the User to the Provider or to any other party. Quotes involving an hourly rate or a rate per square metre will be rejected.
