Garden sprinkler system repair in one section

We have an automatic garden sprinkler system. One of the sprinklers is broken - the t-section the sprinkler is attached to has snapped. It is set in concrete which will need to be drilled out in order to replace the part. Am keen to install elbow pieces, if possible, to prevent the same sort of thing happening again as this sprinkler is in a high traffic area.
