What's the best way to receive job opportunity notifications?

There are three ways that you can receive job opportunity notifications from Service Central.

1. SMS. This is the most convenient avenue for most people, but limited in the amount of information that it contains. Here are some guidelines on what the 'abbreviations' mean:

  • P or R: Indicates whether the customer is ready to hire (R) or planning & budgeting (P).
  • Time frame: Indicates how soon the customer wants the job done.
  • Budget: Indicates what the customer estimates they will be paying (note: this is often incorrect, but gives you a guideline. It's up to you to educate them on a realistic price, and most consumers will be happy to pay the quoted amount if they hear it from a professional).

2. SMS with URL. This is the best choice (receive messages real time, you get all the information up front) but it does mean that you need to have a web-enabled phone. Most of them are these days, so speak to your Service Provider to get it enabled. You'll receive an SMS with a link to a website where you can view the full job details like you do online.

3. Email. This avenue gives you the most information, but it does mean that you need to have someone watching the emails and ready to accept jobs that you want. Great for people with office-based staff!

If you want to change your communication preferences, you can do this online once you log in and go to 'Account Settings'.
