How do you calculate referral costs?
The referral cost is calculated from the initial estimate the consumer makes on the job. The price points for Premium members are:
- $0 - $499 - $7.50
- $500 - $10,000 - $15
- $10,000+ - $30
In saying this there are a few important points to remember:
- Customers often underestimate the value of the job so it is more likely that you will win more undervalued work than we will get overpriced referrals
- This is then your customer for life and all referrals from the customer are also yours.
- We make every attempt to assist the consumer in getting the price estimate close, but we also ensure that the customer is aware that their estimate is only there so they get the right kind of business for their job - they are counting on you to give them the actual cost.
Referral costs also depend on which Service Central package you have - if you are a Jobs Board member your referral costs will be higher than if you are a Premium member. The price points for Jobs Board members are:
- $0 - $499 - $8.50
- $500 - $10,000 - $16.50
- $10,000+ - $35
