Vulcan gas heater fan won't turn off, heat won't turn on

The remote keeps saying to reset. This does not turn heat on however, just the fan. Occasionally the heat works for a brief period. Its hard to get to get the fan to turn off. This also happened when we first used it in summer (we thought we got it fixed then). It probably needs a service too.
