Peter requested 2 quotes from Heating Professionals in Fairfield
I have recently purchased a property which has a 'vulcan powerhouse ducted heating system' model code# 9057; p/n: 9241 2.
the system displays led 17: 'room air over temperature'. there is a switch underneath the fan on the top of the unit which has been reset. this set of contacts is 'normally closed' so when it trips the return air duct fan stops sucking air back into the unit. presently the return air duct fan runs continously (cannot turn it off with the remote 'comfort control thermostat') , does not ignite and so does not heat.
is there another switch on the unit that can be reset to over come the problem?
when i investigated further i found that one of the 8" ducts was disconnected to one of the floor vents, which has since been reconnected. i also found a collapsed section of the 12" return air-duct collapsed which has since been replaced and improved the return suction, yet the 'room air over temperature led 17 is still displaying and does not response to either a remote reset from the remote-control thermostat or the reset button on the vulcan hsi controller n2 board on the unit.
all floor vents have been opened, however i could not find a return duct air filter and the unit is partially wedged between the house and a raised duct. is there in fact a return duct air filter and if so where should it reside. untaping the return duct at the unit itself to check for an air filter is very difficult. any clues????
