Honeywell thermostat indicates heating but no heat

Heating was working until power went off for 5 secs throughout the house. just moved in and don't know make/model of heater (honeywell thermostat). don't even know if it's gas or electric! it may be a simple pilot light or simlar but i don't have a ladder to access the unit in the roof to check - any help appreciated!
