It is a 7 year old house, the plaster board has a single 2cm hole where one of the existing brackets has come loose. We did it ourselves and it has not been good as there is a 3.7 metre width across the windows and sliding door in the room. We need a stable hang for the existing curtains (cotton and some linen).
