"Paint 2 pine chests of drawers (have been painted white)"

Alison requested 3 quotes from Handymen in Ormond East

  2 chests of drawers 40 cm (D) x 56cm (W) x 63 cm (H)
3 drawers per chest, but only 4 to be painted

Chests and front of drawers have been sanded, but I have attempted to apply an undercoat of white, water-based gloss and a first coat on some sections, but I have not been able to avoid paint drips or getting a non-streaky finish.

I have used a non-brand paint (possibly part of the problem) and acrylic brushes, and in spite of heeding advice and observing a demonstration my painting ability leaves alot tobe desired (much more difficult than it appears). Somebody suggested an enamel paint might be a better option.
