Bad smell coming from under house. Think maybe a dead animal.

Not sure if it is a dead animal but the smell is under the house, coming through the ducted heating vent in dining room, but can be smelt in other rooms close by. The house is brick and on stumps so the under house can be accessed. Not sure how to inspect the ducted heating unit. I need someone to locate the smell and dispose of it if it is an animal.
