In response to Dave's side of the story: Dave was never asked to do any extra work during pruning as he claims in his response. He is lying to save face. The very first time he came to do the weeding he had asked for $40 extra for the tip & we had happily paid him a total of $100 without any questions asked. When he was asked to prune the trees last week my parents weren't even home so there was no way my mum could've asked him to do any extra work. The agreement was to leave the waste in the garden bin & black garbage bags, not leave it messy in the garden. Besides I told him that my parents are senior citizens, obviously Dave has trouble remembering conversations. In one & a half hour a "professional" gardener pruned three small fruit trees & a medium sized plant leaving the rubbish dispersed in the garden. ---------------------- When Dave came to our place for an initial quote ($60 for an hour and a half everyone month, based on his $40/per rate) he assured us that he was a professional who was moderately fast and did a clean job, and didn't leave rubbish lying in the garden post job. We gave him two opportunities and found him considerably slower than the previous gardener we had, and our previous garderner wasn't even a "professional". Last weekend, Dave took one and a half hours to prune 3 small fruit trees (with no leaves) and one medium sized plant and left majority of the rubbish dispersed in the garden as he wasn't able to complete the job within one and a half hours. When I spoke to him today he said that we are not paying him enough (this is despite the fact that he gave us a quote based on his per hour rate). I'm quite disappointed with the quality of the service Dave has provided us. Please note, I'm selecting 'Expensive' in the price rating based on the poor results of the work he is able to do within the allocated time.
