Garage door motor needs replacing

Tenants have advised issues with the remotes for the garage door. Tech has attended and advised that the receiver card is faulty and cannot be replaced (as the brand/model is uncommon). They have recommended that the entire unit be replaced. They are unsure of the actual cause of the fault, so I would prefer to be able to claim the damage on my motor burnout/fusion policy with my insurer, so would appreciate a report dictating this, if this is the case.
The garage is a single panel roller-door and you will need to supply 2 remotes with the installation, please also remove the existing motor from site.
