New floorboards where we took out the old fireplace

We currently have floorboards however we need new floorboards over the area where the old fireplace was. Unfortunately there is raised concrete under the old fireplace and was told we should get a raised platform over this area. I would prefer to have floorboards that are even and match (or near match) the current floorboards. Can this be done? I can email photos on request.
