We have a house with chipboard floors covered with tiles in the living rooms, kitchen, and covered with carpets in the bedrooms. I have estimated the total area of about 125sqm with the split between carpets and tiles 50/50. We would like to remove the tiles and carpet and lay solid timber floors. Hardwood floors preferred, however, good quality floating floors are also ok.

Kenny and his friends completed the job. I am very happy with the end result, however, if you hire him please note the following: 1. Do not expect the job starts on the day you have agreed (even if you book the date a month in advance as we did). Allow a week for the first tradesmen to show up 2. When he says "Install and Polish floors" he will do just that. Be prepared to unexpected expenses such as installation of skirting boards, hire a bin, etc 3. Do not expect any preparations. If you have something else on the floors (such as carpets or tiles), and after you (or him) removes it, they will start laying straight away. As much as they can do is to sweep the floors and lightly sand any unevenness. If you have any squeaky floors, you better fix them yourself or hire someone to do it for you. If your floors are not level, fix them yourself 4. When he says he comes tomorrow, then expect to see him in a few days 5. He and his tradesmen start work not before 10am. Other that that, as I mentioned above, we are happy with the end result. The house was unoccupied during the renovation, so it was fine for us to wait a couple of more weeks. I perhaps recommend him for some part jobs, such as sand and polish the floors, which he does very well. For the preparation you will be better off finding somebody else.
