required install of already purchased pre-finished solid maple t&g flooring in bedroom. room dimensions are approx 3.5 x 3.7. existing subfloor is concrete slab and old vinyl floor tiles and carpet (which i will remove). would like to install floor, if possible, over the top of the vinyl by either direct gluing or floating the floor. need advise and supply of other materials required e.g. appropriate underlay and skirting etc. adjoining room is tiled and subfloor of bedroom where boards are to be installed is lower than tiled floor with carpet removed allowing the boards to be installed.
