Overall, the service/professionalism of Michael and Gus was very high in terms of providing a quote, arriving on time and updating me on the job\'s status. What concerns me though, I\'ve ended up with a product that is actually worse than before! My old Tasmanian Oak floorboards which were throughout the whole house (except for the kitchen and bathroom) were in quite good condition, and just needed freshening up. I received a few quotes, and everyone that saw the floorboards said they were in good condition. Some even asked me why I wanted to even do the job! I wanted to stain the floorboards darker than they were or to keep them the same tone, but Michael recommended against this due to the toxicity of solvent, which is what my old floorboards had. I am quite annoyed at myself for not researching more into this, as many people since have advised me you can have a stain under a water based coating. I instead took the advice of the experts and agreed to let Polaco proceed with the job as I was assured my floorboards would look great. And instead they look awful! Concerns were raised from the first coat, and Michael kept insisting all the flaws that were visible now were due to the wood. Well if he knew this, why did he recommend not going for a darker stain? He assured me the floorboards would look great, and instead I\'ve ended up with wet stains all through one bedroom - which were not there before, and after two weeks of sanding, polishing and drying...the floorboards throughout the house look worse than they did before! I am most upset about this and all I can do is start again by re-sanding and doing it all again. Michael who was happy to come out quickly and quote for the job, never came back to inspect the job after it was complete. Would not recommend if you have old floorboards.
