Hire someone else and save yourself the stress. I could deal with him not showing up when he said he would and not picking up the phone every time we called ... but the work itself was just INCREDIBLY sloppy. The pickets on the fence seemed to be spaced almost at random (although, to be fair he did come back and fix this upon request) but the painting was the worst part. Andrew spilled paint all over our pavement, driveway, our neighbours fece and didn't think to clean it up (it was water soluble, so wouldn't have been a problem at the time). He painted the fence with stickers from the wood supplier still in place on the pickets and completely neglected to properly paint other bits. Just a complete nightmare. To top it off, he became fairly aggressive towards the end. Absolutely the worst tradie I've ever worked with. Also: He has a 'Master Builders Association' logo on his invoice; I called and they knew who he was but confirmed that he is not a member. It's possible that there's someone in the business who DOES have this accreditation, but as far as I know they didn't work on our job.
