Safety switch tripping with nothing plugged in and powerpoints issues

Friday night safety switch tripped for all power to top of our house and half the powerpoints in bottom of house. All electrical items connected to the powerpoints affected have been turned off and unplugged but safety switch still continues to trip as soon as its flicked back on. Unsure of what the issue is. also looking to get all powerpoints/cables tested as i think some have not been done right, the last two powerpoints that have been looked at have not been connected right. and we need our main aircon looked at as it is also tripping the safety switch
