Run network cable from nbn modem in garage to router in living room

i currently have nbn installed with the nbn modem being located in the garage. The wireless speed is really poor with the router being next to the modem in the garage.
I want to run the cable from the garage to the living room and connect the router there so the wireless speed will be improved.
There is a network outlet in the living room already so the work required is to install the network inlet at the garage and move the current network to connect to the new inlet in the garage
