Recently my mother had the nbn connection box installed and following this the location of the modem has shifted to where the connection box is located, which is now in the living room. This means that the usual location of the phone has also inevitably moved from the designated location in the hallway to the living room, which is an inconvenience for my mother who navigates her home using a two-wheel frame, and with cables on the ground this makes her recovery following her recent major surgery difficult, as she feels as though she is restricted in her very own home.
Frustratingly, her phone company (Telstra) will not undertake this work for her.
We therefore require the services of a licensed electrician in order to run a conduit in the roof cavity to liven the phone socket, so that it is moved to the location which is my mother's preferred location. The best way to guide you without encountering problems with noggins within the wall, is to use the old copper phone cable.
