Rewire my table lamp that I bought from America

Adam requested 3 quotes from Electricians in Caulfield South

I purchased a table lamp from America, with an American power outlet, and I've since found out that plugging an overseas outlet into an AU adapter where the appliance doesn't have the 'same voltage', or 'compatible voltage', can be an issue and a fire hazard, especially if the appliance doesn't have "double voltage" (this is just what I've been told). I've been advised that in order to operate the lamp without any electrical issues, it needs to be rewired to be compatible with the power grid in Australia. I was wanting to know if this advice is correct? And if it is, I can read the exact specifications on the bottom of the lamp to clarify whether it is compatible or not, because I have no idea about electrical issues like this. The sticker on the bottom says:

"120V 60Hz AC Only. Class 2
Max 10W"

So my question basically is, can I plug this appliance into a simple US-AU travel adapter and have no issues, or do I need it rewired?

Thanks in advance for your help.
